Another finish!

The improv star quilt is finished - in plenty of time!  The binding went on today and here it is, still damp, hanging on the clothes line.  I was in a rush to wash it, as a large skink has now pooed on it twice and I managed to scorch the backing fabric when I put on the binding.

Thank heavens, both came out in the wash.

Pictures of each of the corners, and the middle, are below.

There are two swathes of bubbles, each done in a different green.  I think of them as space dust.

I'm linking up with Leah Day's FMQ Friday finishes.

I find it much easier to quilt Fmq when I don't have to follow lines.

  5. Hello Elvis Lives,

Fabulous quilt, especially the wonderful quilting. It looks great hanging up in the garden.

I had to look up what a skink was. Glad I haven't got to watch out for their poos.

    Love from skink-free England,
    Muv

Skinks are actually pretty nice, except when they poo. Geckos are the worst though, as they live in the house, poo everywhere and chirp at night!

  6. I love the space dust. I really like this quilt a lot actually. Great quilting in all that lovely white space, and a smattering of stars is wonderful.

  7. Thanks Karen. The stars were very improvised. I just made some blocks of different sizes, laid them out and filled in with plain fabric. I think the quilting took five times longer than piecing the top! Definitely my preferred style.
